The Introduction of the Special Issue

The economic and social development of 20 century created critical problems for environmental management. These problems include global environmental pollution, biodiversity loss, soil degradation and uncontrolled urban growth. Environmental management assumed responsibility for coordinating and focusing on development, so that human life could be promoted and prevented from further degradation of land and its components. In environmental management, it is believed that monitoring is to aim long-term sustainable use of resources. In order to achieve this goal, environmental management needs to be multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, comprehensive and collaborative. Environmental management attention is shifting from clean technologies and pollution prevention to green product development. Considering the natural environment and pursuing proactive environmental strategies would improve the methods of environmental planning and management and hence improve its activities performance. Among the critical problems are also satisfactory and lack of training materials, lack of knowledge and insufficient development of interagency and multilateral cooperation on education and training sustainable development. This situation was the impetus to start research on the development and improvement of complex training, environmental planning and management and prepare future environmental experts for professional careers in the transition to sustainable development of communities. Sustainable development strategies focuses on providing opportunities interdisciplinary studies in the fields of human ecology, techniques of environment planning, peoples’ behaviors due to changes in life quality. Beyond the purposes these Strategies involve some stages of implementation: Political and organizational measures to create preconditions in national, regional, and local levels; practical implementation of the strategy of environment management in the all levels; and completion of the goals of environment management among communities. Therefore, in an era of increased communities’ pressure for sustainable environmental management practices, societies should adopt and implement appropriate environmental management and education for seamless synergy amongst the needs of the communities. Finally, it leads to face socio-environmental solutions, and toward transformative environmental education.
