The Introduction of the Special Issue

Highly pathogenic avian influenza virus subtype H5N1 causes severe illnesses in poultry and humans. This virus has pandemic potentiality. The majority of the human cases were associated with the direct or indirect contact of live, sick or dead poultry. This special issue of Probe Animal Science journal will highlight epidemiological investigation of highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses in poultry, wild birds and human.
