The Introduction of the Special Issue The purpose of this Special Issue is to broaden discussions and find empirical evidences on the continuous improvements of Business and sustainable development in different parts of the world, which extend the opportunities in the Business, Globalization & Sustainable Development. Excellence in research is the key to benefiting academics, businesses, society and other relevant stakeholders at local, national, regional and international levels. The contents of the Special Issue will disseminate information and encourage the creation of a leading learning organisation to cope with the demands of sustainable development throughout the world. This effort will build networks between research and publication, academic and society, the government and private sector, and across diverse interest groups. Therefore, this special issue aims at enhancing the depth of understanding about societal innovation under various sub-themes of business and sustainable development. Further, it will provide empirical evidences on innovation used in businesses across the globe for sustainable development. Society faces many significant challenges that are important in the process of transferring knowledge, skills, further development and exploits the technology into new processes, applications and methods that are fundamental at achieving organisational goals (Dubickism & Gaile-Sarkane, 2015). Business process learning organisation refers to improving services and best practices for enhancing organisational abilities to face the competition by maintaining patterns in new thinking (Ali, 2011; Smith & Lyles, 2011). This process can be enhanced further with a closer look on societal issues for sustainable development and Management. Advanced technologies are thus critical both for business organization and society. It is very important to capture further opportunities for the businesses by looking at the on-going debate about society concerns on globalization & sustainable development (Dhewanto, et al., 2015; Johnson, 2002; Santa, 2015). The aims of this special issue would cover some of the current debated issues aim at enhancing the depth of understanding in global business with societal innovation under various sub-themes of business and sustainable development. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches at micro and macro levels are welcomed. We also encourage authors to come forward with emerging and recent issues on business processes, expanding possibilities throughout the world between academic, society and across diverse interest groups.
