Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the section “Environment and Climate Change”.

Aquatic ecosystems are natural indicators of climate change. The study of the state of aquatic ecosystems is of great importance for predicting the future biological consequences of natural and anthropogenic impacts. With the combined impact of climatic parameters and anthropogenic activities, biodiversity decreases and the ecosystem function of natural complexes degrades. This can become a negative factor in the development of the economy and ensuring the safety of the population at the national and global levels. In this regard, the study of biological diversity at different levels of organization and their dynamics make a significant contribution to the study of the biosphere balance, including the functioning of aquatic ecosystems.

At the same time, climate change, which affects the state of aquatic ecosystems, plays an important role in the water supply of territories, the use of water in agriculture and industry. An important role is played by the sanitary and epidemiological state of water bodies as sources of water supply for the population and the use of water bodies for recreational purposes.

Research articles and reviews in this area of study are welcome.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
