Gabriela Goujgoulova was Deputy Director of Department of Exotic and Emerging Diseases, and Head of National Reference Laboratory of Avian Influenza and Newcastle disease of Birds. I have over 20 years of experience and expertise specializing in animal health care.
My main activities and responsibilities were to manage and coordinate work in the National Reference Laboratory of Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease, diagnosis of AI and NDV – epidemiology, pathology, serology, virology and molecular biology diagnosis. As an Internal auditor and quality manager, I implemented, conducted and maintained the Metrology and Quality Standards in the laboratory.
Since October 2023, I have been part of the team of the Center for Food Chain Risk Assessment (https://corhv.government.bg/; https://www.facebook.com/CORHV/). I am the Head of the Animal Health Department and Editor-in-Chief of One Health Bulgarian Journal. My main activities are animal health epidemiology, outbreak investigation, identified risk factors and development of prevention strategies. As an editor, I review, edit and manage the work of the journal.
I graduated as a veterinary homeopath in 2014. This was part of my scientific interests in the field of alternative medicine in small animals. During my work as a veterinarian in a veterinary clinic, I studied the effect of homeopathic medicines on domestic animals.
I have been publishing articles since the beginning of my career as a scientist. Thus, writing and reading scientific manuscripts has become a great pleasure.
