Gangrong Shi obtained his Master degree in botany from the
Northwest Normal University (China) in 2001. He did his doctoral
studies at Nanjing Agricultural University (China), and received his PhDof plant sciences from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2009. He hasbeen employed in Huaibei Normal University (China) since 2001. In
2009, he was promoted to be full professor of College of Life Sciences,(HBNU). He has extensive involvement in plant physiology andecotoxicology with focus on the physiological and molecular
mechanism of heavy metal uptake and detoxification in plants and
phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated soil. He has more than6O peer-reviewed publications and has reviewed manuscripts for over10 journals. He is also an Editor of Environmental Science andPollution Research.
