The Introduction of the Special Issue

The knowledge of PVT relations and phase behavior of reservoir fluids are very important in reservoir engineering in developing more efficient techniques to increase hydrocarbon recovery. Enhancement recovery from the oil and gas fields requires accurate PVT data gathered at the reservoir conditions. Although, much progress has been made in development of modern organic chemistry, adequate experimental data are not available. In addition, the experimental measurements of PVT data are expensive and time consuming and sometimes their validity  is doubtful. Therefore, PVT models have attracted a lot of attentions. Among these, EoSs are presented as the most important tools.

 

The Research Scope of the Special Issue

· PVT and phase behavior of pure substances

· Estimation of PVT and phase behavior of dry and wet gas

· Estimation of PVT and phase behavior of crude oils

· Estimation of phase behavior of gas hydrates

· Cubic equations of state (CEoSs)

· Molecular-Based equations of state

· Simulation/ modeling of separators using EoSs

2: Modified EoSs for the prediction of PVT behavior of reservoir fluids

3: EoSs of state for prediction of phase behavior of gas clatrate hydrates (REVIEW)

4: Prediction of phase behavior of gas condensate using EoSs

5: modeling and optimization of high pressure separators using EoSs  

6: prediction of water/ hydrocarbon mixtures using modified EoSs

7: comparison between tuned EoSs for predicting liquid density of heavy crude oil

8: prediction accuracy of EoSs at very high pressures and temperatures

Submitted articles should not be published or under review elsewhere. All submissions will be subject to the journal’s standard peer review process. Criteria for acceptance include originality, contribution, scientific merit and relevance to the field of interest of the Special Issue.
